Visual Progress...

Things are beginning to come together now.

I've spent the last few days building the facia of the oven with the re-claimed bricks I bought.

My intention is to give it that 'oldy worldy used look', and I'm pleased with the look so far.

As I mentioned before, I've never laid a brick in my life so took my time, and must say I have really enjoyed it.

The front facia took eight hours to build and the two side pieces around two hours each. It's very satisfying and relaxing to do, but after eight hours I'd had enough for one day.

I'll let it all set for a few days, and then the next phase is to lay the bricks around the rear of the oven base to ensure that all is level and correct around all four corners. Once that's done, it will be time to start to build the oven. Really looking forward to getting to that stage....
